Meet the Founder

Kim Anthony

Founder & Executive Director
Urban E
nterprise, Inc.

Kim Anthony is a visionary leader, speaker, and social entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience advancing business development, publishing, and community-centered economic empowerment.

As the Founder and CEO of Urban Enterprise and the Founder & Publisher of Urban Business Journal, Kim has dedicated her career to ensuring that access to information, opportunity, and visibility is not limited to those with privilege or proximity. Her work is driven by a simple belief: when people are seen, supported, and informed, communities thrive.

An emancipated foster youth turned trailblazing entrepreneur, Kim understands firsthand what it means to build without a roadmap. Over the years, she has gathered hard-earned insights from boardrooms, policy tables, pulpits, and grassroots spaces—and she has intentionally created platforms to share that knowledge with emerging entrepreneurs, small businesses, and community builders who are too often overlooked or priced out of traditional media and support systems.

Through Urban Enterprise and Urban Business Journal, Kim has helped raise more than $20 million for grassroots nonprofit and social impact initiatives and supported the successful launch of over 500 mission-driven organizations across 31 states. Her leadership has earned the trust of local changemakers and national institutions alike.

Kim has served as Vice President and Board Member of the Black Business Association and has held board leadership roles with organizations focused on economic mobility, civic engagement, and community well-being. She is an alumna of multiple leadership and public policy institutes and has been recognized with numerous honors for her contributions to philanthropy, entrepreneurship, and community leadership.

Today, Kim Anthony continues her mission to build systems of economic mobility where business becomes a force for good—restoring hope, expanding ownership, and advancing inclusive prosperity, one story and one founder at a time.
