About Kim Anthony

Kim Anthony is an entrepreneur, publisher, educator, and community builder dedicated to expanding economic mobility and helping people transform their gifts, talents, and ideas into thriving enterprises.

As Founder and CEO of Urban Enterprise, Kim leads a growing ecosystem of media platforms, educational programs, leadership initiatives, and community networks designed to connect people to the knowledge, relationships, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive. Her work is rooted in a simple belief: talent is universal, but access is not.

Kim's journey began far from boardrooms and conference stages. A former foster youth who emancipated from the system as a teenager, she experienced firsthand the barriers that prevent many talented individuals from reaching their full potential. Those experiences shaped a lifelong commitment to creating pathways of opportunity for others—particularly entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, women, and historically underserved communities.

Over the course of her career, Kim has helped launch and strengthen hundreds of nonprofit organizations, supported the development of countless entrepreneurs and community leaders, and helped secure millions of dollars in funding for mission-driven initiatives. Her work spans entrepreneurship, leadership development, nonprofit capacity building, workforce development, civic engagement, and transformational education.

Today, Kim serves as the Founder of Urban Enterprise and Publisher of the Urban Business Journal, where she champions stories, strategies, and solutions that advance economic mobility and inclusive prosperity. Through Urban Enterprise, she oversees initiatives focused on business and economic development, philanthropy, leadership, civic engagement, and human potential—creating a comprehensive ecosystem that empowers individuals and organizations to grow, lead, and contribute at higher levels.

A respected speaker and facilitator, Kim is known for her ability to bridge inspiration with practical action. Her approach combines entrepreneurial thinking, leadership development, community impact, and personal transformation, helping individuals move from possibility to progress and from vision to execution.

At the heart of Kim's work is a belief that enterprise is bigger than business. It is the courageous act of creating something meaningful—whether building a company, leading a nonprofit, serving a community, developing one's potential, or pursuing a calling. Through Urban Enterprise, she is committed to helping people build lives, organizations, and communities that flourish.

Kim's mission is clear: to create a world where opportunity is more accessible, prosperity is more inclusive, and every person has the support they need to transform potential into impact.

About Urban Enterprise

Business and community leaders create jobs, spark innovativeideas, and forge new opportunities. But too often, those with the most powerful visions find themselves blocked — not by lack of passion, but by lack of access to clear guidance, resources, capital, visibility, and support. Many end up trying to navigate complex systems alone.

Urban Enterprise exists to change that.

We equip builders with practical training, coaching, visibility, and a supportive community — so they can launch confidently, grow sustainably, and create real impact. Because success isn’t just about hard work. It’s about access, preparation, and the right people in your corner.

Entrepreneurs and leaders come from every background and at every stage of development. What they share is the desire to build something meaningful — for their families, their communities, and their future. Urban Enterprise was created to meet that desire with pathways to knowledge, relationships, and opportunity that help ideas grow into strong, thriving enterprises.

Through learning experiences, storytelling, peer networks, and powerful gatherings, we create spaces where potential is activated, clarity grows, and leadership is strengthened.

We believe that when people are supported — businesses grow, families win, and communities rise.

“Brilliance is everywhere, but access is not. Entrepreneurs and community leaders come from many starting points, and Urban Enterprise exists to help close that gap.”

4 Myths About Entrepreneurship

  • Myth 1: Entrepreneurs are born, not made

Reality: Entrepreneurship is a learned skill. With the right education, coaching, and support, people from all backgrounds can build successful ventures.

  • Myth 2: You need significant capital to get started

Nothing could be farther from the truth. Rotinely administered vaccines - those approved by the FDA - help the body build immunity against known diseases and visruses. They DO NOT cause autism. The true causes of autism are still unknown. Research points to several factors that may increase the probability of having a child with ASD, including biological, environmental, genetic, and others.

  • Myth 3: Entrepreneurship is a lonely solo journey

Reality: The most sustainable ventures are built in community. Mentorship, peer support, and networks dramatically increase long-term success.

  • Myth 4: Entrepreneurship isn’t for people from under-resourced communities

Reality: Talent and ideas exist everywhere. What’s often missing is access. Urban Enterprise exists to help close that gap.

  • Myth 2: You need significant capital to get started

Many successful ventures don’t begin with big money — they begin with clarity, discipline, and proof of concept. You start by validating your idea, serving real customers, and generating early revenue using what you already have. Grants, loans, and investors generally come after you’ve shown traction — not before. Start small, keep costs lean, reinvest as you grow, and let momentum fund the next step.
